He mainly wears a dark green tunic carrying the crest of Archenland, with khaki breeches and black, leather boots
Portrayal: I don't currently have a portrayal for Cain, but am working on one and hope to have it for you within days.
Character PersonalityLikes: Cain likes archery, horseback riding, and swordplay. Another one of his passions is reading, and finally, one of his more unusual characteristics, gardening.
Dislikes: Some of the things Cain absolutely hates is running. He also doesn't enjoy heat, or many insects. He also hates it when he fights with his siblings, though it happens more often than he'll admit. He also dislikes being ordered around, although this doesn't happen that often.
Strengths: His knowledge of his country's history is a great benefit to him, as is his study of ancient battles. He prides his ability to make quick decisions, and can be very insightful. Another one of his strengths is the respect he commands as the firstborn son of the king.
Weaknesses: Cain can sometimes be condescending, and quick to judge. Sometimes he speaks before he thinks, and can occasionally be uncaring. Also spiders. He falls apart if there's a spider near him.
General Personality: As a whole, Cain Corrino is a fairly good person. As with anyone else, he has his weaknesses, but tries to work through them with grace. When he realizes he's wrong, he asks for forgiveness, but when he thinks he's right, he will defend his position vehemently. He is quick to forgive someone who has wronged him, but tends to remain wary of them for awhile. He makes friends easily, and seems to have a natural charisma about him that draws people to him.
Cain loves his family very much, and would do anything for them. However, as with most families, he gets into quarrels with his siblings, and can be very stubborn. He generally regrets fighting later, but has a short fuse when it comes to his brothers and sisters. He has great respect for his father and mother, and has been taught all his life to respect his elders. He knows that much can be learned from those who are older than you, and can often be found speaking with some of the older residents of the castle. When he's not listening to his elders, he can also be found passing on that wisdom to his siblings.
In battle, Cain is a fierce fighter. To many, it seems he would rather die than retreat, but to those who know him, it's a different story. Cain will fight as long as there is a glimmer of hope. And he rarely fights without good reason. He's not one to simply jump into a fight because it's there. Cain will weight all his options, look more a simple, more peaceful solution, but if there is no other choice, he will fight. He's been known to start a fight or two of his own, usually to protect soomeone weaker than him.
Character HistoryFamily: King Nain Corrino is his father, his mother is Queen Calista. He has 3 younger brothers, Prince's Cade, Aiden, and Aeryn. He also has two younger sisters, Princesses Daena and Ranae.
General History: Being the eldest son of King Nain, Cain is next in line to receive the throne. He's been brought up with that in mind throughout his life. He's received the finest schooling, the best tutors, trainers, anything money and status can buy. It would have made him spoiled, unfit to be king, except that his parents instilled within him a deep-seated humility, the idea that no persons life was better or more valuable than anothers. He carries that with him throughout his life, keeping it close in his mind.
He began his royal training at age 13, quickly becoming a good student of the arts of warfare. He loved being outside, and especially archery. Soon enough, he could put an arrow through a playing card at 100 yards. He also enjoyed taking horseback rides through the countryside, enjoying all the sight, sounds, and smells nature had to offer. It was in the more... diplomatic settings where he stumbled. It never occurred to him that diplomacy might be just as important as fighting, if not more so. He had a rude awakening to that fact, however, when his father had him come to a banquet hosted in the honor of a visiting dignitary when Cain was 16. Cain's tomfoolery, which included a cat, an ambassadors robe, and a dead mouse, upset the party and insulted the visiting nation. Cain's lack of diplomatic knowledge led him to further insult the dignitaries when he tried to apologize, which nearly set off a conflict with the nation. Only the quick thinking of King Nain convinced the ambassador to not leave in a huff, and saved the country from a needless conflict. Cain was shocked that his carelessness almost cause such a problem, and swore to devote himself to his studies.
He has since learned many things that will help him become a better king in the areas of diplomacy, and has discovered two new passions: Reading and gardening. He's shocked many, including himself, with how far he's advanced in these few years. He knows the major customs of every nation in the world, and is hoping he can learn all the nuances of these nations before becoming king. His new peaceful pastimes have helped him temper the love of fighting within him, and he hopes to one day become a great king.
Other/Notes: (Is there anything else we should know about your character?)
SampleRP Sample: Cain wandered through the palace library looking for a book to read.
"No, no, not that one." He thought to himself, glancing at a large novel on a shelf. He'd been through the library hundreds of times in the past few years, and had read nearly every book at this point. Now, he was looking for something new.
After circling the grand hall a few more times, looking through the oak shelves at the ancient, but well-maintained books, he finally came to a conclusion: There were no new books on the shelves he could reach. That meant that he'd have to get to an upper shelf, no small feat considering the ornate shelves were at least 15 feet high. Normally, he'd have a servant get a ladder, reading off book titles until he found one that sounded interesting. Today, however, the servants were nowhere in sight, so he'd have to find a book himself.
He knew that climbing the shelves would be a very bad idea, so he set off to find a ladder. After several minutes, he finally found a tall, wooden ladder tucked away in a rarely-used corner of the library. He picked it up, surprised by it's weight. He stood it up, and nearly yelped when it began rolling away from him. After catching the ladder, he looked down, noticing, for the first time, a set of wheels on it. Looking back to the top he noticed a pair of hooks. He assumed that this ladder could be attached to the bookcases in the library, and moved about. Quite a convenient little invention there.
He rolled the ladder over to the nearest bookcase, and set the hooks firmly in place. He began slowly climbing the ladder, worrying a bit at the creaking. He finally reached the top shelf, and began scanning the books. He was soon so absorbed in these ancient tomes, that he almost didn't notice the ladder sagging underneath him. When he looked down, he realized why the ladder had been put away; constant use over the years had damaged the rungs!
Before he could react, the rung he stood on gave way. He reached out, grabbing the shelf of the sturdy, old, bookcase. Well, the case might have been sturdy, but the shelf, weakened by years of supporting books, couldn't handle the sudden increase of Cain's weight. The shelf split down the middle, dropping Cain 15 feet to the floor, then depositing a large pile of books on him. Cain sat up, amazed that he hadn't incurred major injury, the looked down, to one of the books in his lap. "'A Complete History of Narnia: The White Witch.'' He muttered. "This will do." He extricated himself from the mound of books, and walked out of the library.
