And Christmas comes to Narnia early this year. The long awaited skin is here, finished and ready for us to use. It took a while to get the icons perfected and themed right for Narnia, but it's done now. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry it took so long to come.
Because of the switch to the new theme, I put a place for us in the Showcase area on the SMF official site. The link to the thread is
here. With school wrapping up, I'll try to get some more word out for us, especially before the movie hits the US shores.
Now moving on.
As per a staff discussion, we are going to place a cap on pro-Narnian human characters. That's right, Pro-Narnian Human Characters. The reason for this is simple, they vastly outnumber both Pro-Telmarine characters and animal/creature characters altogether. This cap will be in place until the staff decide otherwise, which will likely be indicated by a running tally we'll be adding to the
Accepted Characters Roster. Once the numbers of Pro-Telmarine characters and animal/creature characters begin to rise, we'll consider removing the cap on Pro-Narnian Human Characters.
Therefore, I will encourage all of you to create either an animal/creature character, or a Telmarine. I highly encourage you to create a Telmarine character if you do not have one already. Furthermore, if you wish to create an Archenlander, I've got a number of spots in my subplot that could be filled by quasi-canon (as they're previsualized, not that they are canon to Narnia) characters if anyone is interested. In any case, Archenland is currently allied with Telmarine-Narnia, and so it would make sense for Archenlanders to fight on the Telmarine side.
The staff recently received a request for a member to create an original character from Earth. The request was quite unexpected, and while interestingly conceived, we have been forced to deny it. After a discussion, we decided that it was best to simply close the doors on original characters from Earth altogether, and thus we have added this clause to the Character Creation Rules, found in the
Character Application-Under no circumstances can an original character cross the threshold into Narnia from Earth. This is a precautionary measure to ensure that Narnian characters are used in a Narnia-universe RPG and that this doesn't become a cross-over RPG. In addition, in keeping with Lewis' vision of Narnia, original characters from Earth are prohibited to maintain the sense of purpose that each Earth character had.
On a lighter note, the staff are preparing nominations for April's Character of the Month. Be ready in the next few days to vote for your choice for CotM! Maybe the same people will appear, or maybe there will be new ones, who knows? But, ultimately, it's your choice that makes someone the CotM. Be ready!
That's it for this week. Keep RPing, and a continued wish of good luck to all of you on Finals!
